Sectors along Dwarka Expressway to get sewerage network by 2027 | Gurgaon News

GURGAON: GMDA has started work on expanding the sewerage network in newly developed sectors where lack of drainage has led to recurrent discharge of sewage into open areas. Officials said they have invited bids for laying the network on Dwarka Expressway. The project is expected to be completed by 2027.

At an estimated cost of Rs 41.6 crore, GMDA will lay a sewerage network of about 23 km from Sector 99 to 115 in various sizes of 600 mm, 800 mm, 1000 mm and 1200 mm under this project, which will take at least two years to complete after the allotment of work. The sewage generated from these sectors will be treated at the proposed sewage treatment plant in Sector 107.

“We have floated a tender for laying main sewer lines from sectors 99 to 115. The process is likely to be completed within three months,” said a senior GMDA official.

The construction is expected to be completed in 18 months. GMDA has started construction of the remaining sewerage networks in sectors 58 to 76 along Southern Peripheral Road at a cost of Rs 33.6 crore. The sewerage network in these sectors was incomplete at 29 locations due to various challenges, including land acquisition issues, litigation, encroachments and delays in transferring services.
