Skylo Announces New Go-to-Market Team Amid Rapid Growth of Direct-to-Device Services

Skylo Technologies, a pioneer in direct-to-device (NTN) network communications, has hired three key leaders to help scale its industry engagement amid rapid growth. After launching its direct-to-device service in North America and winning the Best Non-Terrestrial Network Solution award at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February, the company is rapidly expanding its market presence to enable millions of devices to access this complementary network for mobile operators.

Paul Hanton has been named senior vice president of carrier partnerships, Pete Saladino has been named first global chief marketing officer, and Vijay Krishnan has been named vice president of strategic partnerships to lead business development efforts with chipset and device partners.

“Skylo is bringing together the entire industry, from world-class smartphone and IoT chipset providers to leading mobile network operators, to leverage the incredible power of NTN’s standards-based service. Our direct-to-device service is built on over 90 patents that go beyond standards, enabling the mobile ecosystem to easily connect and deliver broad satellite connectivity to customers with scale, performance and reliability,” said Parth Trivedi, CEO and co-founder of Skylo Technologies. “Investing in satellite connectivity is no longer a niche decision for operators, with most major modems certified by Skylo and Android including satellite in its latest release. OEMs and operators alike are looking to Skylo for ways to deploy direct-to-device to their subscribers, and our exceptional GTM team will help ensure that our customers can quickly take advantage of this new opportunity.”

Prior to joining Skylo, Paul Hanton worked at Google, where he led carrier partnerships in the Americas, leading the commercial launch and launch of Google Pixel devices. At Skylo, Paul will help mobile operators deliver deeper and broader customer experiences, minimizing the need for capital or spectrum investment and providing complementary services from their existing SIM. Pete Saladino spent 13 years at Samsung Mobile, where he led carrier marketing and national promotions for the Galaxy brand in the U.S. Pete will manage the go-to-market process, as well as brand strategy and execution. Vijay Krishnan joins Skylo after an illustrious career at Intel Corporation, where he led multiple business lines as CEO and P/L owner. Vijay will lead Skylo’s efforts to integrate with a broad ecosystem of chipsets, components and devices.
