Duke Energy Hosts Career Planning Session with Johnson C Smith University Students

NORTHAMPTON, MA / ACCESSWIRE / July 25, 2024 / We welcomed nearly 50 Johnson C. Smith University – JCSU students to our Charlotte, NC headquarters to learn more about the company and the many career opportunities Duke Energy offers. Staff from the finance, marketing and IT departments shared stories with students about their career paths that led them to Duke Energy and their experiences working in the utilities industry.

Students also asked about work-life balance, the state of renewable energy sources and how to best prepare to enter the job market.

When asked what the most rewarding part of his job is, Duke Energy intern Kwesi Kyei-Fordjour (pictured in red shirt) said the team values ​​him for his contributions to our mission.

“It’s rewarding to know that as an intern, I’m not just doing boring work,” Kyei-Fordjour said. “This is my second rotation (as an intern at Duke Energy). I’ve gained the trust of the team, and they’re assigning me things that are really important to the company.”
