Dragon Age: The Veilguard will not require the EA App on PC

BioWare also confirmed that Dragon Age: The Veilguard has been verified by Steam.

BioWare and EA are ready to share details about Dragon Age: The Veilguard, which have emerged after an in-depth look at Summer Game Fest 2024. In a change for EA PC releases, Dragon Age: The Veilguard will not require the EA App on PC. The game has also been confirmed to have Steam Deck verification.

BioWare today released a new update for Dragon Age: The Veilguard in a post by X. The studio is “going all-in” on Steam features, allowing the game to run natively on Valve’s popular digital store. In the past, many AAA games (including EA titles) required players to install and use a third-party launcher, even when launching the game from Steam.

BioWare also announced that Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be Steam Deck verified at launch, meaning the game is fully compatible with the portable PC device, including graphics and controls.

PC gamers can breathe a sigh of relief knowing they won’t have to jump through any extra hoops to play the new Dragon Age game when it launches this fall. We got a chance to get our hands on Dragon Age: The Veilguard during Summer Game Fest 2024 and came away impressed with its story and combat elements.
