‘We are committed to transforming Gujarat into a $3.5 trillion economy by 2047,’ says Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel

Gandhinagar (Gujarat) (India), July 27 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has stressed that Gujarat is on track to become a $3.5 trillion economy by 2047.

Participating in the ninth meeting of the Governing Council of Niti Aayog in New Delhi on Saturday, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Gujarat Chief Minister reiterated the state’s commitment to achieving the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047, a press release said.

CM Patel announced the setting up of a think tank, Gujarat State Institution for Transformation (GRIT), modelled on NITI Aayog, which will be tasked with systematically implementing the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047.

According to a press release, CM Patel reiterated Gujarat’s commitment to the development vision by adopting the Prime Minister’s mantra of ‘GYAN’, focusing on the upliftment of Garib (poor), Yuva (youth), Annadata (farmers) and Naari (women).

In this context, the Prime Minister presented the ‘Gujarat@2047 Dynamic Roadmap Document’ aimed at achieving the goal of ‘Viksit Gujarat’ for ‘Viksit Bharat’. The roadmap, based on the two pillars of ‘Good Lives’ and ‘Good Living’ aims to improve the quality of life of the people and ensure economic prosperity.

He noted that Gujarat, despite accounting for just 5 per cent of the country’s population, contributed 8.3 per cent to the country’s GDP in 2022-23.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel highlighted Gujarat’s achievements in key areas like Prime Minister Gati Shakti, Health, Nari Gaurav Niti, Anna (Millet), Natural Farming, Digital Farming Mission, MSME and Amrit Sarovar and also outlined plans to achieve future goals.

The Chief Minister mentioned that ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ can pave the way for ‘Viksit Bharat’ and called for collective efforts to develop policies and strategies that will make India the world’s largest manufacturing hub.

He also emphasised the need for world-class products that will contribute to the development of both the domestic and global supply chain.

He further discussed how Gujarat is realising the Prime Minister’s vision of green growth for a Viksit Bharat.

He highlighted that at the Vibrant Summit in January 2024, Gujarat took a significant step towards self-sufficiency in semiconductors by setting up the country’s first semiconductor integrated circuit manufacturing plant, which will benefit both the country and the international community.

He also noted that India’s first semiconductor integrated circuit will be manufactured in Gujarat.

The Chief Minister emphasised that semiconductors, blockchain and AI will play a key role in developing the skill ecosystem required to achieve the goal of ‘Viksit Bharat by 2047’. The Gujarat government has committed to empowering the young generation in the industries of the future through the ‘Mukhyamantri Bhavishyalakshi Kaushalya Vikas Yojana’. The Chief Minister also highlighted Gujarat’s rapid progress in successfully implementing the Solar Rooftop Scheme and developing the world’s largest hybrid renewable energy park in Kutch, which is in line with the Prime Minister’s vision for green growth.

He noted that the Gujarat government is giving equal priority to agriculture and non-agricultural sectors by facilitating production of natural agricultural products as per global standards.

The Chief Minister informed that over 43 lakh farmers have been trained in natural farming and around 9 lakh farmers are practicing natural farming in an area of ​​over 7 lakh acres.

Finally, the Prime Minister acknowledged that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has become the world’s fifth largest economy and is on track to become the third largest economy during his third term.

The Chief Minister emphasised that Gujarat will make determined efforts to realise the vision of Viksit Bharat.

Besides the Prime Minister, Gujarat Chief Secretary Raj Kumar also attended the 9th meeting of the Gujarat Niti Aayog. (ANI)
