SOUTHERN Ill. (KFVS) – The Southern Illinois Made Expo raised more than $70,000 for some area veteran charities.

The expo held a special event at the Southern Illinois Veterans Airport on Oct. 4 to present the money to Honor Flight of Southern Illinois, This Able Veteran and Down the Leash Service Dogs.

According to organizers, the exhibition, held on July 20 and 21, attracted hundreds of people from across the region and gave local businesses the opportunity to showcase their products.

Since 2018, the Southern Illinois Made Expo has raised more than $300,000 for area veteran charities. It is hosted by Senator Dale Fowler and the Southern Illinois Chamber of Commerce.
