Marvel Cinematic Universe has achieved the impossible! The Walt Disney Company’s film franchise is the first to surpass the total number of 30 billion dollars earnings. There have been 34 films released so far, the latest being Deadpool & Wolverine, and the box office stats are staggering! Scroll down for a detailed analysis.

Marvel boss Kevin Feige announced the big news at San Diego Comic-Con. Their latest film, Deadpool & Wolverine, was the lucky film to do so with a $96 million debut in North America alone. The opening weekend is expected to end between 380-400 million dollarswhich will be another feather in our cap.

34 releases so far!

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has released 34 films to date, starting with Iron Man (2008), which began its run of success with a box office total of approximately $585 million in worldwide box office revenues. Over the years, many solo superhero films such as Black Panther, Black Widow, and Captain Marvel, among others, have entertained fans.

But the real storm comes when all the Avengers gather! The undeniable phenomenon was witnessed in Avengers: Endgame in 2019. The star-studded film earned a whopping $2.79 billion and was the highest-grossing film of all time between July 2019 and March 2021.

Robert Downey Jr., aka Iron Man, passed away, leaving fans heartbroken and flocking to theaters to pay him an emotional farewell. Marvel will now recreate the magic by having RDJ return as Von Doom in Avengers Doomsday.

It’s also worth noting that each of the 33 releases opened at No. 1 at the weekend domestic box office, a streak that is expected to continue with Deadpool & Wolverine , which is the 34th MCU release.

Two films in the $2 billion club!

As mentioned earlier, the Avengers have joined forces and dominated the box office. The MCU has two films in the multi-billion club: Avengers: Endgame ($2.79 billion) and Avengers: Infinity War ($2.05 billion).

Four Marvel films are in the top 10 highest-grossing films worldwide. Avengers: Endgame is in 2nd place, Avengers: Infinity War is in 6th place, Spider-Man: No Way Home is in 7th place and The Avengers is in 10th place.
