Cameo App Violated New Jersey Law by Posting Celebrity Endorsement Videos, Attorney General Says

Popular celebrity review app Cameo will clearly label videos promoting products and companies under a settlement with governments in 30 states, including New Jersey.

The app, which debuted in 2017, has gained massive popularity by allowing users to pay anywhere from a few to several hundred dollars for personalized videos from their favorite media personalities.

What personalities? Think Danielle Staub of “Real Housewives of New Jersey” ($199 per video) or former Gov. Chris Christie, who is still listed on the site but is currently on hiatus after being scammed into trolling another Republican. (It’s a long story.)
