A special unit to combat drug addiction among youth

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: city ​​police They created a specialized anti-narcotic drugs a cell aimed at containing the growing number of cases substance abuse among young people by reducing the trade in illegal drugs in the city.
The cell, headed by an officer of the rank of inspector, aims to effectively resolve the problem. The city police has launched a special helpline (+91-9529019061) to enable citizens to discreetly pass on relevant tips to the authorities.
The initiative was launched by Police Commissioner Pravin Pawar after reviewing crime scenes in the city and talking to residents. After reviewing the case, Pawar decided that a special unit was needed to investigate the menace.
The police chief appealed to citizens to cooperate with the police in the fight against drug addiction and drug dependence.
Inspector Geeta Bagwade has been produced before the Commissioner of Police, who will be directly reporting to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Prashant Swami and the Commissioner of Police.
Inspector Bagwade told TOI that the cell had received detailed instructions from the police commissioner to not only bust the networks of suppliers and peddlers but also target the manufacturers of illegal substances and drugs.
