Productivity Commission doubles down on Albanese’s Made in Australia future

The Productivity Commission has repeated its warning that the Government’s “Future Made in Australia” policies could lead to protectionism that would undermine the trade-based economy and prosperity.

Deputy Chair Alex Robson said there was a growing trend across the world of economies supporting local sectors, meaning the billions of dollars in subsidies represented the “start of a real renaissance” for industrial policy in Australia and globally.
