Where to Get a COVID Test in Sonoma and Napa Counties

As COVID-19 cases surged in Sonoma and Napa counties this summer, some residents are finding it increasingly difficult to obtain test kits.

In March, the federal government suspended a program that allowed people to order and receive free tests by mail.

In many cases, home test kits can be obtained from health care providers or local pharmacies. The federal government also continues to provide subsidies for low-income residents who purchase test kits from pharmacies.

If you need a test kit, here are some options:

* CVS: All MinuteClinic locations and select CVS Pharmacy locations are offering COVID-19 testing. CVS Pharmacy is providing free testing to uninsured patients through the federal government’s Increasing Community Access to Testing (ICATT) COVID-19 program. Out-of-pocket costs for insured patients vary based on their insurance plan. For more information, visit CVS.com to find CVS Pharmacy and MinuteClinic testing locations near you.

* Walgreens: Antigen and PCR testing is available at Walgreens, and the pharmacy also offers free options for those without insurance. For more information, visit pdne.ws/4fnWL09.

*Kaiser Permanente members can order low-cost COVID tests by mail from kp.org and may be eligible for reimbursement, depending on their plan. Some plans also allow members to pick up tests at their local Kaiser pharmacy at no charge. Members who need a PCR test can schedule one online at kp.org as an e-appointment.
