MCCC Alumni Association Announces New Executive Team

The Montgomery County Community College Alumni Association Board of Directors recently announced the names of new members of its executive committee.

Matthew Riddick is the new board chair; Chele Hallman is the board vice chair and Stephanie Ziegler is the board secretary/treasurer.

The board of directors is composed of Bill Vitiello, Jonathan Basta, Alecia Fields, Lisa Filoon, Erica Howard, Theresa Kaminski and Cindy Whitley.

Alumni Association Board of Directors members may be elected to serve a maximum of three two-year terms. Through officer positions and committees, board members work with students and alumni to strengthen the college’s mission and participate in activities that support members of the MCCC family, past and present.

Riddick, a Harleysville native, is the founder and president of The Riddick Foundation, which serves the Black and Brown community through scholarships, mentoring and arts support. Riddick has served on the board for three and a half years. As he begins his new term as president, he looks forward to expanding its reach to the college’s more than 90,000 alumni.

“With new leadership on the board, we are excited to take the association to even greater heights,” he said. “We want to increase board membership, increase attendance at alumni events and increase engagement with our alumni.”

Hallman, a Pottstown investor who grew up in Valley Forge, is a commercial real estate agent who serves on several community committees and also serves on the board of the Steel River Playhouse.

“We are excited to create events and opportunities to collaborate and connect with our alumni, near and far,” she said. “We look forward to connecting and building relationships by sharing our experiences and appreciation for Montco.”

Ziegler, a graduate of Boyertown Area High School, worked at Diamond Credit Union for five years, including two as director of business development, before deciding to pursue an education at MCCC to gain a solid foundation for a career in business.

She and Hallman serve on the Alumni Association board starting in 2023. Ziegler said she is excited to continue her new board roles as secretary and treasurer.

“Our goals for the Alumni Association Board include connecting with alumni outside of the local Montgomery County Community College neighborhood,” she said. “Many alumni have moved away, and we want to engage with them by offering virtual meetings to support each other and collaborate on initiatives that benefit the college.”

The change in leadership marks the end of Vitiello’s six-year tenure. He now moves into an advisory role to the immediate former board leadership.

“I am forever grateful for the opportunity to serve the alumni community and encourage each of our alumni to stay in touch with us,” he said. “We are seeking passionate alumni who have had similar positive experiences at Montco to serve on our Alumni Board of Directors and would be happy to connect with you. I wish our new board leadership and the entire college community all the best in continued success.”

Stefanie Cuadrado, careers and alumni manager, said she looks forward to continuing to work with the new leadership team.

“I would like to congratulate our next leadership team on their new roles on the board, and we look forward to continuing our outreach efforts with their help to connect with alumni,” she said. “I would also like to thank Bill Vitiello for his extraordinary leadership over the past six years and say what a job he has done.”
