India’s White Collar Employment Growth: July sees 12% growth

As per the Naukri JobSpeak Index, India saw a significant 12 per cent increase in the number of white-collar workers employed in July 2024 compared to the same period last year.

Most sectors showed impressive double-digit growth, led by pharma/biotech, FMCG, real estate and AI-ML. The IT sector also rebounded with a 17% increase, contributing to the overall positive job market outlook.

Gujarat continued its dominance, with cities like Rajkot, Jamnagar and Baroda showing significant growth. Hyderabad emerged as a major job creation hub, particularly in the hospitality, insurance, BPO and oil and gas sectors. Naukri’s Chief Business Officer Pawan Goyal highlighted this as a promising sign for the financial year, potentially indicating a growth in the white-collar job market.
