He later oversaw the allocation of subsidies to Kenya’s marine fisheries and laid the foundation stone for the 50 million shilling Watamu Market in Kilifi, which was part of a wider regional market development initiative.

In Kwale, Ruto inspected several projects including the Kinango and Matuga Technical and Vocational Colleges, the Mwananyamala Industrial Park, the 200-unit Matuga Low-Cost Housing Project and the Kinondo Cotton Mill.

He also visited the modern market in Diani and addressed the people of Likoni.

Ruto continued his journey in Taita Taveta, attending a service at the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK), St Peter’s Ngambwa and later attending the presidential town hall in Mombasa.

On Monday, he visited Tana River where he laid the foundation stone for the construction of the ESP market in Bangale and launched the Bangale Water Project before inaugurating the National Identity Card Registration Office in Kone.

On Tuesday, Ruto returned to Nairobi where he received a report from the Presidential Task Force on the Regulation of Religious Organisations.

He also inspected the ongoing construction works at Lenana Primary School and Talanta Sports Stadium.

The stadium is scheduled for completion by the end of 2025, in time to host the Africa Cup of Nations.

On Wednesday, he presided over the ringing of the bells at the Nairobi Stock Exchange, attended the centenary celebrations of Kabete National Polytechnic and later visited State House Girls’ High School.
