Wind farms in Uzbekistan planned by Japanese company Toyota Tsusho and Sojitz

TOKYO — Japanese trading houses Toyota Tsusho and Sojitz plan to build and operate wind farms in Uzbekistan, aiming to meet demand for renewable energy in a country that relies heavily on natural gas for power.

Eurus Energy Holdings, wholly owned by Toyota Tsusho, will develop and operate the 500-megawatt wind farm. Site surveys are underway. It is expected to be the first wind farm supervised by a Japanese company in Uzbekistan.
