LU offers a research program for foreign teachers and researchers

Lucknow: Lucknow University will start a research residency programme this year to meet the overseas needs. teachers and scientists. As part of the program, teachers and scientists will be given the opportunity to stay on LU on campus, conducting research and teaching students.
The programme guidelines have now been finalised and will soon be presented to the university’s executive council.

“The Researcher-in-Residence Programme is based on participatory research collaboration among stakeholders. Its objective is to foster collaboration and create an environment conducive to meaningful research interactions. The programme will welcome international researchers from various disciplines and institutions abroad to engage in research activities, share their expertise and contribute to the intellectual vitality of our academic community,” said Vice-Chancellor Prof. Alok Kumar Rai.
The eligibility criteria would be a PhD or equivalent research experience in the relevant field. Additionally, the candidate should be a faculty member, research scientist or equivalent in a recognized university/college/institution/industry based outside India. “To join the programme, the candidate must have a research proposal outlining the objectives, methodology and expected outcomes of the research project. It should clearly state the outcomes and should also include a commitment from the researcher to teach and mentor on a weekly basis during his/her stay at LU,” the VC said. Candidates must also have a teaching proposal as they will be required to teach at LU for a semester. Classes can be held in hybrid mode during the academic session, with mandatory offline teaching for at least one month.
“Visiting researchers are expected to produce tangible research outputs during their stay, such as publications, conference presentations or collaboration projects. Collaborating faculty from LU are required to be part of any outputs, such as research publications, conference presentations or collaboration projects. Additionally, researchers will be encouraged to actively engage with the academic community, including faculty, students and other researchers, and exchange knowledge,” said Dean of Academic Affairs, Prof. Geetanjali Mishra.
She added that priority will be given to candidates with solid academic background and proven excellence in scientific research.
