8 Awesome iPad Pro Apps I Use Every Day

The M4 iPad Pro is one of the best pieces of electronics you can buy today. It’s a beautiful device with top-of-the-line specs, and while iPadOS isn’t perfect, it gives me enough tools to balance work and play on the new 13-inch model.

Since I started using my new iPad with the Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil Pro, I feel like new possibilities have opened up. With that in mind, I want to share with you some of my favorite iPad Pro apps that I use every day — and don’t worry: I’m not talking about apps like Slack, Safari, Netflix, or even the Apple Files app, although I use those every day.

ChatGPT

BGR has a lot of articles highlighting the usefulness of ChatGPT. It’s helped us run marathons and watch Netflix better, but for me the feature I use the most is the text proofing. It’s one of my go-to apps on the iPad Pro and I love using it with Stage Manager. I created a keyboard shortcut to help me do this and it’s made my life so much easier since then. You can find it in the App Store here .

Paper

After buying an iPad Pro M4 and Apple Pencil Pro, I decided it was finally time to try drawing. I’m a terrible artist, but I had to start somewhere, right? My friends love Procreate, but Paper helped me fall in love with art again. I haven’t improved much so far, but I like to copy/draw some Pokémon images when I’m bored. I think this app has just the right amount of tools to help beginners unleash their creative potential. You can find it in the App Store here .

Photomator

I’m a huge fan of the Pixelmator team. I have a bunch of their apps on a few different platforms and I love editing my images with this app. The M4 processor makes editing machine learning faster than ever, and the beautiful OLED display gives me accurate colors so my images shine in both SDR and HDR. You can find it on the App Store here.

A milder streak

The Gentler Streak is my personal favorite Apple and I have. A winner of App Store Awards in two different categories over the past few years, this fitness tracker has a dedicated iPad app. I check the app daily to see if I’m ready for a run or yoga session based on my activity tracker and wellness status. Plus, having a large screen makes my workout status and details visible on the display, and it’s nice to have all that information on my iPad. You can find it in the App Store here .

Genshin Influence

Over the past few months, I have developed a certain weakness that I am ashamed of: Genshin Influence. I play this game on PlayStation 5 all the time. I had a great time trying it out. Genshin on my iPhone 15 Pro with GameSir Galileo G8 controller, I found that playing this game on iPad Pro M4 is the right choice. I can maximize the graphics without encountering any problem. You can find it on the App Store here.

Portal

Whenever I want to focus on a task (or just take a break for a few minutes), I open Portal. This app offers multiple portals to different locations that help you focus on a task, relax, or even fall asleep. It’s one of my favorite apps for the iPad Pro because it combines surround sound with beautiful footage. It’s also available for Mac. You can find it in the App Store here .

Authenticator

2Stable’s Authenticator app is my favorite choice for storing my two-factor authentication codes. Its interface is simple and intuitive, and it works with all my Apple devices—even my Apple Watch. While I’m trying out Apple Passwords with iPadOS 18, all my 2FA codes are safely stored in Authenticator. You can find it in the App Store here.

Apple Fitness+

Finally, Apple Fitness+ is a great companion. When I’m not doing yoga in my living room with my Apple TV 4K, I like to go to classes on my iPad. This is especially useful during sessions when I have to lie down. I hope to eventually find a good gym where I can use my iPad for indoor running instead of my iPhone, because I’m sure the experience would be much better. You can find out more about Apple Fitness+ availability with an Apple One subscription here .

A roundup of my favorite iPad Pro apps

Here are some of my favorite iPad Pro apps that I use every day. While I like that I can use them with the iPad Pro M4, I know that almost all iPad users can benefit from them, so check them out even if you don’t have the latest, greatest iPad Pro.
