The provisions of the Tourist Accommodation Act are to come into force in November – NTV

By November, hosts of short-term accommodations will be required to register with the provincial government. In addition, short-term rental platforms are required to remove any listings that are not registered and share information about their listings with the provincial government.

Those who do not register by November will be subject to penalties. So far, 2,630 accommodation facilities have been registered.

These measures will allow the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador to have a more complete picture of the short-term rental market across the province.
