iOS 18 beta 5 now available for devices without Apple Intelligence

A week after rolling out Apple Intelligence to iPhone 15 Pro users in iOS 18.1 beta 1, Apple is now rolling out iOS 18 beta 5 to developers who don’t have a supported device or are skipping Apple Intelligence for now. That brings with it the development of iOS 18 as Cupertino prepares for a release later in the fall.

With the iOS 18 beta version, Apple customize your Home screen, Lock screen, and Control Center. Now, apps can be organized however you want, meaning you can place them wherever you want. App icons and widgets can take on a new look with a dark or dim effect, and users can make apps look bigger to create the perfect experience for them. New widgets can be selected on the lock screen instead of the Flashlight and Camera options.

For Photos AppApple is rolling out its biggest design change yet with iOS 18. The company wants to make it easier for users to find and relive special moments. By providing a single view, it’s introducing new collections that help users browse content by topic without having to organize it into albums.

Users can also experience new features Passwords App. Built on the Keychain foundation, the new Passwords app makes it easy for users to access passwords, passkeys, Wi-Fi passwords, and verification codes.

Finally, Apple has released new features that allow users close and hide apps. When an app is locked or hidden, content such as messages or emails in the app are hidden from searches, notifications, and other places in the system. Users can only unlock it using Face ID and Touch ID. BGR teaches you how to hide and lock iPhone apps in iOS 18.

In addition to iOS 18 beta 5, Apple is also releasing fifth beta builds of iPadOS 18, watchOS 11, macOS Sequoia, tvOS 18, and visionOS 2.
