Renewable energy company donates $50,000 for mobile medical facility

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – NEA Baptist Health System announced Monday it has received a $50,000 donation from NextEra Energy Resources, LLC for its mobile medical unit.

Ty Jones, chief marketing officer for NEA Baptist, said the donation will help fund the unit, which travels around Northeast Arkansas providing health care, including screenings, immunizations and mammograms, to uninsured and underinsured patients.

“We are incredibly grateful to NextEra Energy Resources for their generous support of the Mobile Health Unit,” said Robbie Johnson, Chief Development Officer at Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation. “Their donation is a true investment in the health of Arkansas residents, many of whom have limited or no access to care.”

“At NextEra Energy Resources, we are committed to investing in the economic development, success and future of the residents of the communities we serve,” said Sydney Mace, senior project manager for NextEra Energy Resources. “We are very pleased to make this contribution to the Mobile Health Unit.

The Mobile Health Unit will be present at the Manila Community Center on Friday, August 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., offering free preventive health screenings to the entire community.
