Key Financial and Parliamentary Actions: EU Ministers’ Presentations and Discussions Continue

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is scheduled to introduce the Finance (No.2) Bill, 2024 in Parliament today. The bill aims to implement the financial proposals of the central government for the fiscal year 2024-25.

Further, Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh) will address the Lok Sabha giving an update on the implementation of the recommendations of the 70th report of the Standing Committee on Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Food Processing, with special reference to the fisheries sector. SP Singh Baghel is expected to make a statement in both the Houses on the progress made on the 31st report of the Standing Committee on Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, which discussed the grant demands for 2023-24 for the Ministry of Panchayati Raj.

Union Minister Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya will also give an update on the status of implementation of the recommendations of the 20th Quality Control Cell Report. Moreover, several Union Ministers, including Virendra Kumar, Jitin Prasada and Ramdas Athawale, will table the papers in the Lok Sabha, while other Ministers, including Prataprao Jadhav and Pankaj Chaudhary, will do the same in the Rajya Sabha.

Discussions will also continue in the Rajya Sabha on the functioning of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, initiated by TMC MP Derek O’Brien, and the Ministry of Cooperation, which is expected to be moved by DMK MP Tiruchi Siva.
