Gradiant Announces Rapid Sales Growth with Over $500 Million in New Orders in First Half of 2024

Growth was driven by geographic expansion and strategic advances in semiconductors and microelectronics, as well as expanded offerings in other industrial markets.

BOSTON, August 6, 2024–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Gradiant, a global provider of advanced water and wastewater treatment solutions, today announced that it closed the first half of 2024 with more than $500 million in new orders, building on a record first quarter of $337 million in orders. The results mark the company’s fifth year of doubling annual sales and the impact of its strategic expansion in the United States and key high-tech manufacturing sectors worldwide.

Gradiant continued to deliver solutions to blue chip leaders in key global industries for which it has become a water solutions partner, signing new contracts to design, build and operate flagship water treatment and wastewater recycling plants in the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. A significant portion of the new orders are from high impact projects in the semiconductor and microelectronics industries in the United States and Asia, and returning customers who are increasingly adopting more Gradiant solutions based on their positive experiences with the technologies and team. New orders in the first half of 2024 are from customers including Micron, STMicroelectronics, AB InBev, Coca-Cola, Nestle, Rio Tinto, Petronas, ADNOC and Nama Water.

These agreements underscore the growing demand from key high-tech manufacturing, food and beverage, and heavy industry sectors for solutions that reduce water usage, recover valuable resources, and reclaim wastewater to return it to nature. These agreements demonstrate Gradiant’s ability to support global sustainability across diverse environmental, economic, and regulatory landscapes.

Industry uses up to 50% of the world’s water. Gradiant offers a complete set of technologies designed to address the complex water and wastewater challenges of the world’s most important industries, including food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, mining, renewables and energy. Gradiant’s solutions ensure that industry partners achieve operational and sustainability goals with the lowest CAPEX and OPEX.

The string of wins reflects Gradiant’s growing position with the recent addition of CURE Chemicals, a full suite of customized chemical solutions for water and wastewater operations. Recognizing the continued momentum, the prestigious GWI Global Water Summit honored Gradiant in May with the “Water Company of the Year (Distinction)” and “Water Technology Idol” awards, recognizing its leadership in technology innovation.

“Our continued sales growth, supported by new high-tech industrial partnerships, is evidence of our solutions-oriented approach and technological innovation that meets the rigorous performance and sustainability requirements of our customers,” said Prakash Govindan, Gradiant’s Chief Operating Officer. “We are delivering on our commitment to help industries and communities grow hand in hand to ensure water for generations to come.”

Gradiant significantly increased its value in the second quarter on the back of breakthrough technology announcements in PFAS cleanup and lithium production.

In May, Gradiant introduced ForeverGone, the industry’s first complete, all-in-one solution for the removal and permanent destruction of PFAS, a harmful, everlasting chemical. ForeverGone produces water that meets or exceeds the latest US EPA drinking water standards for PFAS. The fully integrated solution provides comprehensive PFAS removal efficiently, sustainably, and at the lowest total cost.

Then in June, Gradiant announced alkaLi, an independent spin-out company that aims to accelerate the scaling of battery-grade lithium production. alkaLi is powered by EC2Gradiant-class innovation that is the industry’s first and only comprehensive, fully integrated solution designed to EXTRACT, CONCENTRATE and CONVERT battery-grade lithium. alkaLi offers the world’s most efficient lithium production solution and meets the rapidly growing trends in electrification, driven by demand for electric vehicles, energy storage and portable electronics.
