Arsenal unable to sign 25-goal striker who ‘suits them best’, Arteta now has to make bold decision to risk title for £85m

Arsenal have been told which striker would be their ideal choice but Mikel Arteta will have to take a risk and choose an alternative candidate.

Arsenal need a new striker this summer.

Mikel Arteta is well aware of this, with the Gunners being linked with a number of potential signings in this part of the pitch.

Arsenal have failed to secure the signing of Benjamin Sesko and there is still no sign of a new goalscorer at the Emirates Stadium, especially as the start of the Premier League draws ever closer.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Dominic Solanke. Arsenal are also still in the race for Victor Osimhen. However, neither Bournemouth nor Napoli will allow their talismanic strikers to leave cheaply, and in both cases the Gunners will face competition from other interested suitors.

In any case, Arteta found out which striker will solve his problem.

Arsenal say Alexander Isak is the striker they need

According to an Arsenal fan and former Tottenham Hotspur striker, Alexander Isak is the striker “best suited” to the Gunners, according to talkSPORT.

Arsenal have certainly been interested in Isak in the past and it’s easy to see why Arteta also admires the Swedish international. Last season, the 24-year-old racked up an impressive tally of 25 goals and two assists in 40 appearances in all competitions for Newcastle United.

What’s more, Isak has all the attributes required to shine under Arteta at the Emirates Stadium. He is technically gifted, a clinical finisher and a solid physical presence. He has the ability to keep the ball, bring his teammates into play and apply the finishing touch to his moves.

Isak also boasts the versatility Arteta desires, as he can operate comfortably on both the wings and in a leading role.

However, as reported by iNews, Newcastle are not under pressure to sell Isak for FFP reasons this summer, with the player himself committed to the Magpies. As such, Arteta will surely have to move on from Isak and move on to an alternative target.

Arsenal must take a risk and sign Viktor Gyokeres

Arsenal have also been linked with a move for Viktor Gyokeres this summer for an estimated £85million.

The Sporting striker shares many of the same qualities as fellow countryman Isaac, and apart from his ability to play on the wings, he would be able to fulfil all the requirements Arteta is looking for in a striker.

Gyokeres was also in fine form last season, scoring 43 goals and providing 15 assists in all competitions to help the Portuguese club to a title triumph. If he can bring something like that to north London, he could have a similar impact at Arsenal, allowing them to finally overtake Manchester City in the title race.

However, with Gyokeres yet to prove he can have such a big impact in the Premier League, signing him for that fee would be a real risk. Now, however, it is time for Arsenal to be bold.
