Bobby Wales ‘delighted’ with first goal for Kilmarnock

Bobby Wales was “over the moon” as he scored his first goal for his hometown club Kilmarnock on a huge European night at Rugby Park.

The 19-year-old striker came off the bench to score the equaliser in injury time in Thursday’s 2-2 draw with Tromso in the second qualifying round of the Conference League.

“If I had to pick a game to score that goal, it would be the one my dad was at home watching, with my mum and girlfriend in the stands,” Wales told BBC Scotland.

“Especially because it’s an important goal for next week and it came in European competition, the first time I touched the ball and I think the only time I touched the ball.

“It went in, but it wasn’t my cleanest shot. It doesn’t matter how it went in, it went in, so I’m happy.”
