Don’t say – ABC News

Channel Seven bills itself as a family station but a Four Corners investigation has revealed it is a “second chance club” for older men and is being described as a “degrading, soul-crushing” workplace.

Accusations of sexism, abuse and extreme online bullying are common, and staff have been hospitalised. In some extreme cases, they are unable to work or have suicidal thoughts.

Numerous employees have filed legal claims against the chain, and non-disclosure agreements have been imposed on numerous former employees.

Reporter Louise Milligan and the Four Corners team spoke to more than 200 people for this compelling story, including current staff who told them they believe there is an urgent need for change both at Seven and in the wider commercial television industry.

Don’t Speak, reported by Louise Milligan, will air on Monday 12th August at 8.30pm on ABC TV and ABC review. See more at abc.net.au/news and on ABC News social media platforms.
