Huawei Launches Train The Trainer Program for Students – Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Huawei has achieved a major milestone in Pakistan’s journey towards digital excellence by launching ‘Training the Trainers’ – a major training initiative for 300,000 students in Pakistan.

Huawei has designed an extensive training program to empower 300,000 students across the country. This initiative is a key part of Pakistan’s broader digital transformation efforts to raise the level of ICT education and skills across the country.

Huawei Train The Trainer (TTT) certification ceremony was held in Islamabad. The TTT program, a joint venture between Huawei and various ICT academies in Pakistan, aims to meet the growing demand for advanced ICT skills.

By focusing on training trainers who will then educate students, the program creates a multiplier effect that significantly improves the quality of ICT education. This approach ensures that trainers are equipped with the latest ICT knowledge and skills to pass on to students, thereby directly influencing the next generation of IT professionals.

The program structure is carefully designed to ensure that trainers are well-equipped to deliver high-quality education. This initiative aligns perfectly with the government’s vision to improve ICT education and foster digital literacy among students. By providing comprehensive training to trainers, Huawei and its partners help bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry requirements, thereby better preparing students for the challenges of the modern digital landscape.

The partnership with Huawei plays a key role in strengthening this initiative. Huawei’s commitment goes beyond just providing training; it reflects a deep commitment to Pakistan’s digital future. By combining its experience and resources, Huawei is making a significant contribution to developing a skilled workforce that will support various sectors in Pakistan and beyond. This partnership underscores Huawei’s role as a leading player in promoting Pakistan’s digital transformation.

Speaking on the occasion, Ahmed Bilal Masood, Deputy General Manager and Director, Huawei Pakistan Subsidiary, highlighted the collaboration through which TTT and Seeds for the Future (SFTF) programmes can contribute to the economic growth of Pakistan.

He noted, “Investing in IT and youth is the right direction. We are honored that Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has chosen Huawei to be part of this initiative. This is one of our top priorities and we continue to invest our efforts, resources to make it a success. We will ensure that digital transformation requires a skilled workforce in Pakistan. We need to develop a workforce that can deliver services not only in Pakistan but also internationally.”

IT and Telecom Secretary Aisha Humera Chaudhary highlighted the importance of this initiative at the ceremony. She said, “The Ministry of Information Technology is committed to supporting this initiative through a number of strategic measures. We will assist Huawei in providing access to this training to students and will set up a committee to monitor operations and ensure the quality of the training provided.” Her comments reflect the ministry’s role in facilitating and overseeing the success of this transformational programme.

She highlighted the broader impact of the program. She congratulated the students and trainers, saying, “This is the beginning of a significant celebration, and that celebration is the economic growth of Pakistan. By working with us, Huawei will make Pakistan the next leader in the world.”

The TTT program is expected to have far-reaching impact. By training 300,000 people, the program aims to create a significant and skilled workforce ready to contribute to various sectors. In addition, the creation of an HR database for employment will improve the connection between skilled professionals and job opportunities. This initiative aims to improve employment rates and drive economic growth by supporting a skilled and flexible workforce.
