Egypt and Bolivia consider increasing economic cooperation

The Ambassador of Egypt to La Paz, Hatem Al Nashar, met on Friday, September 8, 2024, with Huascar Ajata, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bolivia for Economy and Foreign Trade, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in the economic, trade and investment sectors.

During the meeting, Nashar highlighted Egypt’s efforts to implement economic and structural reforms aimed at achieving various goals, including human development, social security, healthcare, empowering youth and women, as well as building a competitive economy attractive to investments by creating a favorable business environment and promoting macroeconomic stability.

He also stressed the importance of strengthening economic and trade cooperation with Bolivia and promoting foreign direct investment.

Nashar outlined the policies adopted to manage the impact of global crises and strengthen public-private partnerships, while highlighting Egypt’s investment environment and competitive advantages.

Ajata stressed the importance of developing relations between the two countries, noting that Egypt is the only African country with a Bolivian embassy.

He expressed Bolivia’s interest in continuing cooperation in the fields of agriculture, energy, environmental protection and tourism, and in using Egypt’s experience in key sectors such as road construction, construction, oil exploration and gas development.

Both sides proposed initiatives to strengthen bilateral cooperation and provide investment opportunities in Egypt, agreeing to further coordination and consultations for timely implementation.
