Microsoft, TCS, Amazon India’s Most Attractive Employer Brands: Survey

Other brands in the top ten most attractive employers include Tata Power Company, Tata Motors, Samsung India, Infosys, Larsen & Toubro, Reliance Industries and Mercedes-Benz

New Delhi: Microsoft has emerged as the ‘most attractive employer brand’ in India, followed by TCS and Amazon in second and third place respectively, according to the Randstad Employer Brand Research (REBR) 2024 study.

Microsoft scored very high in the categories of financial health, good reputation and career development opportunities – the three most important factors that impact an organization’s employee value proposition (EVP), according to the study.

Other brands in the top ten most attractive employers include Tata Power Company in fourth place, Tata Motors (5th), Samsung India (6th), Infosys (7th), Larsen & Toubro (8th), Reliance Industries (9th) and Mercedes-Benz (10th).

REBR 2024 is an independent study that surveyed nearly 173,000 respondents and 6,084 companies from across the world, of which nearly 3,507 respondents were from India.

“This year’s findings reflect the changing expectations of the workforce. As talent increasingly prioritizes work-life balance and equality, organizations need to rethink their talent acquisition and retention strategies,” said Randstad India Managing Director and CEO, Viswanath PS.

This year’s report suggests that intentions to change jobs have stabilised since last year. However, employers still need to offer a comprehensive benefits package with a healthy mix of work-life balance, adequate career development opportunities and a flexible and supportive work environment to retain top talent.

In addition, it is good to see that most employees received some form of inflation compensation from their employers. The results also indicate a strong propensity of talent to use AI in their work, which provides a strong argument for employers to consider investing in upskilling their employees in new-age technologies.

The report found that work-life balance, equality, and attractive pay and benefits are the three most important factors that Indian employees look for when choosing an employer, the study found.

Equal opportunities, measured for the first time this year, emerged as another key factor, ahead of pay and benefits, it added.

The study on the impact of AI on the job market found that about half of respondents use AI daily or regularly, with the trend most pronounced among Generation Z (60 percent). Some 88 percent of talent expect AI to impact their work in the next 5 years. Only 8 percent of talent see the potential impact of AI negatively.

The attractiveness of all sectors is growing at a similar pace. Automotive sector also ranked first in 2024 (77%), followed by IT, communication, telecom and ITeS (76%), FMCG, durables, retail and e-commerce (75%) and then BFSI and consulting (74%).

The report also reveals that 38 percent of talented employees leave their employers due to lack of career development opportunities, 34 percent because of too low pay compared to the rising cost of living, and 30 percent because of insufficient flexible work options.
