Solid State Logic will introduce the new S400 console and a range of enhancements to its System T broadcast audio production platform as part of its V4.1 software update at IBC 2024, which will take place from 13 to 16 September at the RAI Amsterdam Convention Center.

Featuring the company’s flagship live control system in a compact and cost-effective form factor, the new S400 is ideal for use in OB, event spaces and music applications, or anywhere advanced control features are required and space is at a premium, the company says.

The S400 console offers the same high-quality fader experience as the S500, featuring premium 100mm touch faders and a dedicated OLED display for each fader. Level meters and status LEDs covering dynamics, auto mix and external controls are also present on each fader to further enhance visual feedback for operators, it said.

The V4.1 software update, available for all System T consoles and DSP engines (including virtual ones), delivers immersive 9.1.2, 9.1.4 and 9.1.6 channel paths and buses, in addition to the existing 9.1.2, 9.1.4 and 9.1.6 monitoring capabilities.

These are joined by advanced immersive panning tools, a range of multi-channel effects including an SSL bus compressor, multiband compression, dynamic EQ and delays, and a sophisticated Link Bus architecture for processing dynamics across objects and planes.

Additional studio quality effects are added to the System T FX rack, including SSL’s highly regarded Blitzer Vibe compressor and Sourcerer isolator. Parallel compression on each audio track is now available, and each channel dynamics section now has wet/dry control, as noted.

The company will also debut System T Cloud in Europe, a virtualized live audio mixing solution. Delivering new workflows and production agility, System T Cloud is an innovative platform offering flexibility and scalability to seamlessly manage live productions from multiple locations via the cloud, it said.

T Cloud System Features:

  • Cloud instances of the Virtual Tempest DSP Engine and Tempest Control application.

  • 256 processing paths.

  • Full immersive formats up to 9.1.6

  • Dante Connect cloud audio streaming and routing.

  • 256×256 Dante Connect in Virtual Tempest Engine.

  • NDI conversion options.

  • Hardware and/or software control stations located anywhere.

  • Control stations in multiple locations simultaneously.
