Debt collection firm expands north-west England headquarters, leases premises as regional commitment grows

Liverpool-based debt collection and credit management services provider is expanding its operations.

Ardent Credit Services is owned by Phillips & Cohen Associates (PCA).

The purpose of the expansion is to manage the growing volume of debt collection activities in the public sector, as well as receivables owed by leading organisations in the telecommunications, insurance and motor finance sectors.

The company has expanded its available office space to 15,000 sq ft and extended its lease until the end of the decade at its Knowsley headquarters, signalling its long-term commitment to the local region and continued growth since joining the PCA last year.

The additional space is set to enable further expansion and include new dedicated training, HR and IT facilities to accommodate the growing team and attract top local talent.

John Ricketts, managing director of Ardent Credit Services, says the business, which currently employs around 135 staff, is continuing to grow: “Our vision is not to be the biggest, but the best, which is why we are investing in additional premises, people and technology.

“Our industry is a sensitive sector to work in, especially given the cost of living crisis, but it is also a vital part of the economy. Collecting with compassion and acknowledging the life challenges many of our clients face is key to delivering positive outcomes for all.”

He added: “Our aim is to grow organically, through our existing client base, as well as expand into new sectors where our expertise protects clients as well as their reputation.”

Nick Cherry, PCA Chief Operating Officer, said: “The facility provides a fantastic working environment which provides access to a significant pool of talented City employees and allows us to provide our employees with real career development opportunities within the wider PCA Group, as well as significant opportunity for progression.”

Since the acquisition, Ardent has invested in its digital capabilities, with approximately 60-70% of all payment transactions now being digital and automated.
