Riz Ahmed’s comedy series for Amazon, starring Sheeba Chaddha and Aasiya Shah

Riz Ahmed’s comedy series on Amazon Prime Video has three new regulars, Diversity studied exclusively.

Sheeba Chaddha, Aasiya Shah and Sajid Hasan have joined the yet-untitled half-hour show alongside the show’s lead Ahmed and recently announced cast member Guz Khan.

Character details are being kept under wraps, but the official series description states that the series follows “Shah Latif (Ahmed), an aspiring actor who is on the verge of landing the role of a lifetime but is drawn into a full-blown existential crisis and a psychedelic conspiracy thriller.”

Chaddha is a talented actress who has worked in film, television and stage. Her previous television roles include the hit series “Mirzapur”, as well as “Bandish Bandits”, “Taj Mahal 1989”, “Tanhaiyan” and the German Netflix series “The Signal”. Her film roles include the award-winning role in “Badhaai Do”, as well as “Doctor G”, “Delhi-6”, “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam” and “Talaash”.

She is represented by Times Talent and World Wide Media.

Shah has appeared in shows such as Diaries of the Midwife, Raised by Wolves, The Beast Must Die, Bloods, Unforgotten and We Might Regret This. She is also known for her theatre work, including Hear Me Now with Tamasha Theatre Company, Unknown Rivers at the Hampstead Theatre and The Interventionists at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre.

She is represented by Sainou Talent Agency.

Hasan is best known for his role in the Pakistani serial “Dhoop Kinare”, in which he played Dr. Irfan. He has also starred in films like “A Mighty Heart”, “Jalaibee”, “Maalik” and “Aazaan”. Apart from acting, Hasan is a writer, producer and director.

Ahmed serves as a writer, executive producer and co-creator of the series, as well as a star. Ben Karlin serves as the other co-creator and executive producer. Ahmed serves as an executive producer with Allie Moore under the Left Handed banner. Jake Fuller serves as an executive producer for Jax Media, which produces the series with Amazon MGM Studios. Left Handed has a first-look deal with Amazon MGM Studios, which includes the series.
