Lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 78th Independence Day speech, Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said it reflected the government’s determination to build a developed and self-reliant India. Throwing light on topics like self-sufficiency through renewable energy, One Nation – One Election, UCC, development of medical education, industrial production and ‘Design in India’ and women empowerment through SHGs. “Modi ji’s speech reflects his commitment to the country’s development, inspired by the successes of the last 10 years.

I call on all countrymen to listen to this speech and take the pledge to build a strong India,” he added. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday reiterated his commitment to work three times faster towards achieving the Viksit Bharat goal by 2047 and urged his countrymen to join him in the 24/7 commitment by 2047.

Addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the occasion of Independence Day, Prime Minister Modi emphasised his aim to make India the third largest economy in his third term. “This is the golden era of India. 2047 awaits our Viksit Bharat. Overcoming obstacles and challenges, this commitment to move forward with a new resolution…

“I said earlier that in my third term, the country will become the third largest economy, and I will work three times faster to make the country’s dreams come true as soon as possible. I am not afraid of challenges because I live for my country and my countrymen. So let’s join in a 24/7 commitment until 2047 to fulfill the dreams of our ancestors,” he said.

He highlighted the reforms carried out by the central government over the past 10 years, saying they had increased the confidence of young people and their willingness to take great steps forward. “We should not let this opportunity slip away. Only then will we achieve the goals of Viksit Bharat by 2047,” he added.

“From tourism to SMEs and health, there is a new, modern system in every sector. We have adopted best practices. Every sector needs new things to use technology and we need to ensure that these sectors are supported. Let’s all unite with all our strength and achieve our goals,” he said.

The prime minister also urged the nation to work towards becoming a developed nation by 2047, recalling that 40 million Indians had shown strength and courage by ousting the British decades ago.
