Apple’s App Store Vice President Leaves Company

Apple’s App Store Vice President Leaving Company in October

Matt Fischer, Apple’s vice president of App Store, will leave the company in the coming months as the tech giant prepares to restructure in response to global regulations.

Fischer had been responsible for the App Store since 2010. After his departure, the App Store team will be split into two teams: one will be responsible for overseeing the Apple store, and the other for alternative app distribution.

“I’ve been thinking about this for some time, and as we’re also reorganizing the team to better address new challenges and opportunities, now is the right time to pass the baton to two outstanding leaders on my team.”

Fischer will be replaced by Carson Oliver, a senior Apple executive who will run Apple’s App Store. Ann Thai, director of App Store features, will lead a new alternative distribution team.
