Fresh off the announcement that GIANTS Software will be the publisher of a new racing simulation game Motor Racing Project comes the announcement that Straight4 Studios and GIANTS have entered into a long-term technical partnership. This partnership will see the game engine used in the hit Farming Simulator series drive Project Motor Racing straight to its scheduled 2025 release.

GIANTS Software and Straight4 Studios Collaborate on GIANTS Engine Integration Motor Racing Project from 2023. Both studios are already in the development phase, in which they are adapting the engine to the requirements specific to racing simulators.

The GIANTS Engine was developed from scratch and saw the light of day in 2008 in the first Farming Simulator. Since then, it has been continuously developed and used on all popular platforms, so today it easily meets the latest technical requirements for PC and console games.

Boris Stefan, CSO and Head of Publishing at GIANTS Software said: “When we committed to self-publishing Farming Simulator in 2021, we made no secret of the fact that we were looking for external titles that would fit our vision. In Straight4 Studios, we found the perfect candidate: a studio that, like us, wants to create world-class simulations, and a new project from an established studio that will enhance our publishing portfolio.”

“Straight4 and GIANTS have deep simulation roots and high production values,” said Kevin Boland, CDO at Straight4. “Competing in the specialized and technically demanding arena of sim racing with Motor Racing Project is a testament to the versatility of the GIANTS engine. We are confident that both Farming Simulator fans and racing simulator players will emerge victorious from this partnership.”

Ian Bell, CEO of Straight4 Studios, noted: “Developing the next generation of racing games requires solving some tough questions. The most important is how to match our state-of-the-art physics engine with the graphical fidelity our fans expect from us. In the GIANTS engine, we have found the solution: a game engine that allows us to build a beautiful simulator while ensuring that frame rates do not suffer as a result.”

Project Motor Racing, currently in development for PC and consoles, is scheduled for release in 2025.
