Utah Flooding Leads to State of Emergency Declaration

Governor Cox issued a State of Emergency Executive Order in response to recent and risk of future flooding across the state. The Executive Order will remain in effect for 30 days unless extended.

The declaration would allow Utah to request and receive assistance from other states under the Emergency Management Assistance Agreement, as well as protect property and people affected by flood damage.

“The flooding we’ve seen over the last few weeks has been devastating,” said Gov. Cox. “I’ve seen some of the damage firsthand in Sanpete County, and I know Utahns have been similarly impacted across the state.”

The implementing regulation takes effect immediately and will remain in force for 30 days unless the legislature extends the state of emergency.
