CAF CL: Young Africans eliminate Vital’O in aggregate 10-0

DAR ES SALAAM: The young Africans advanced to the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League (CAF CL) with a 10-0 aggregate scoreline victory over Vital’O.

An emphatic victory on Saturday evening at the Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam means Yanga will face Ethiopian club CBE FC in the second qualifying match of the competition.

Pacome Zouzoua opened the scoring in the 14th minute from the penalty spot, and Clement Mzize doubled the lead in the 48th minute of the second half.

Two minutes later, Clatous Chama did what he does best when his perfectly executed set piece found the back of the net to secure his side’s third goal.

Substitute Prince Dube also scored in the second half, benefiting from an assist from Chama, while Stephanie Aziz Ki added a fifth goal just 11 minutes from time.

A late goal by Mudathir Yahya in the 86th minute sealed the victory and ensured his team’s advancement to the next stage of the competition.

However, the drama of the situation repeated itself in the 13th minute when Vital’O defender Amede Ndavyuse received a marching order for deliberately kicking the ball into the goal.

He tried to save Zouzoui’s shot that flew into the visiting net, but his mistake resulted in a red card, allowing his team to finish the match with ten men.

In the 74th minute, Yakubu Uwimana was also sent off for a foul on Yanga’s attacking midfielder Maxim Nzengeli, for which he received a second yellow card and ultimately a red card.
