New earnings reports from Korean gaming company Shift Up provide a clear picture of the impact of Stellar Blade sales. According to publicly released data, Shift Up earned 65.2 million Korean won (KRW), or about $48 million, in Q2’24, which aligns with the April-June 2024 period when Stellar Blade launched.

The company enjoyed an impressive operating profit margin of almost 69%, earning KRW 45.1 million (USD 33.1 million) in the quarter. According to the results, Stellar Blade earned around USD 19.5 million in royalties, which is an interesting number.

It was previously revealed that Stellar Blade About 1 million copies soldand at ~$70 per copy sold, the game could earn over $70 million. We don’t know the exact ratio of royalties — i.e. the contract Shift Up signed with Sony — and it’s likely that future royalties will be spread across multiple quarterly payments.

Shift Up’s second game, the mobile and PC third-person shooter Goddess of Victory: Nikke, generated almost 60% of quarterly revenue.

The Korean developer has revealed plans to release Stellar Blade on PC, expecting sales to increase on platforms like Steam and potentially the Epic Games Store.
