After Green Line, Oneplus phone users face a new problem “dead motherboard”

OnePlus launched Nord CE 4 Lite 5G in India at Rs 19,999. Available in Mega Blue, Super Silver, and Ultra Orange colours. |

Many OnePlus 10 Pro and 9 Pro owners have been complaining about a serious motherboard issue that is causing unexpected crashes. OnePlus Club posted a screenshot of several complaints from affected users on the X, claiming that the company has provided no assistance to fix the issue.

A OnePlus service centre has allegedly demanded Rs 42,000 from a OnePlus 10 Pro 5G owner for a motherboard repair. The Chinese smartphone maker’s flagship model is currently available on Flipkart for Rs 44,499.

A user reported that the phone froze and continued to beep after downloading a software update.

Another X (formerly Twitter) user named Madhav Agarwal, @MadhavMadhuvan, wrote, “I have been having this issue with my OnePlus 12 and 9 freezing for the past 6 months and OnePlus is unable to fix it”

Oneplus responded by saying, “Hi! This is indeed not the experience we wanted you to have. We want to have more clarity on the issue you had. Please elaborate on your concerns via DM along with your device’s OS version so that we can assist you further.”

Another user named Chandan, @that_chand, said, “I received a response from OnePlus and I am even more disappointed after reading it. They said, “We appreciate your initiative in providing us with the details. We understand your discomfort with this matter and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused you.

As per record IN01020X240818037, it was noted that your OnePlus 9 Pro was returned without repair due to complications with the motherboard.

Our service center engineers have tried to resolve the issue by replacing the battery and software; however, the issue seems to persist. Your patience and understanding in this situation are greatly appreciated.”

My main question is: If the device manufacturer doesn’t know how to fix their problem, who will? The users?

They said they replied, “The motherboard is damaged. Our engineers tried to fix it but the problem still persists.” Really? There has to be another solution. They can’t just leave the user with no options.’ X Chandan user @that_chand added
