Foot Locker to Open Global Technology Services Center in North Texas » Dallas Innovates

New York-based Foot Locker shared two big pieces of news in its Q2 2024 earnings report Wednesday. First, it’s moving its headquarters from Manhattan to St. Petersburg, Florida, in 2025, citing “expenditure discipline” as a key factor. Second — and much more relevant to North Texas innovation — the company is opening its Global Technology Services Hub in North Texas in September.

Foot Locker (NYSE: FL) said its “technology and innovation center” will be led by Chief Technology Officer Adrian Butler.

Citing a “best-in-class tech talent pool” in the region

According to Foot Locker, the goal of the new center will be to “accelerate technology delivery and cross-functional collaboration through access to best-in-class technology talent.”

The technology services center will be located at 3001 Hackberry Road in Irving and will create 200 to 250 jobs over the next five years, CTO Butler told José Sánchez Córdova of the Dallas Morning News, adding, “Dallas is the perfect location for this office, given the city’s growing business community and large pool of talented tech workers.”

In terms of second-quarter earnings, Foot Locker said it returned to revenue growth, with total sales up 1.9% and comparable sales up 2.6%, and gross margin growth of 50 basis points year-over-year. The company added that it is continuing to streamline its international operations and optimize its office space.
