Collector Asha Ajith on Sunday distributed virtual and augmented reality kits to 60 school principals at a function organised by the ARTA Foundation.

She told the audience that the Tamil Nadu government is providing numerous welfare schemes and programs for people in remote areas. The younger generation should utilize these opportunities and move up in life.

Expressing gratitude to ARTA Foundation for providing virtual reality kits to public schools in the district, she said such participation of NGOs and enthusiastic volunteers will help children learn new things with ease.

Giving children such tools would make them feel good and also encourage them to learn about them. Government schools now have smart classrooms and high-tech labs. Besides the boarding school in Pazhamalai Nagar in Sivaganga district, she said four other schools will be given toolkits that will encourage children to be creative and think outside the box.

Sivaganga district has done well in the public examinations and has been ranked among the top five in the state in class 10 and Plus Two. The district should soon aim for the first position and hope that the students will bring laurels with modern tools and other educational facilities.

ARTA founder Mageswar, Yusuka Ichikawa of Mitsuba India, project director (DRDA) AR Sivaraman and officials of the School Education Department also attended the meeting.
