Check Point Software Names Ruma Balasubramanian New President APAC – Intelligent CIO APAC

Check Point Software has named Ruma Balasubramanian as president of its Asia Pacific region, replacing Sharat Sinha, who left earlier this year to pursue another industry role.

Balasubramanian will manage Check Point’s overall business in the Asia Pacific region, working closely with the sales, marketing, product engineering and customer service teams.

With his extensive experience in cloud solutions and digital transformation, he will lead Check Point’s growth through strategic partnerships and innovative AI-based security solutions.

Balasubramanian most recently served as a senior executive at Google Cloud, where she led high-growth segments in APAC. Prior to that, she was vice president and chief transformation officer at Cisco Asia Pacific, Japan and Greater China.

Her international experience includes key roles at Hewlett Packard Enterprise Services, AT Kearney and IBM.

Describing herself as “passionate” about building inclusive teams and supporting women in technology, Balasubramanian said: “As cyber threats become increasingly sophisticated, it’s critical that organizations partner with a cybersecurity leader who can help them scale securely with AI, data and cloud. Check Point’s prevention-first approach and 3Cs framework – comprehensive, collaborative and consolidated security – demonstrate our commitment to innovation and trust.”

Sherif Seddik, President of International Sales at Check Point, said: “We are excited to welcome Ruma to our management team. Her experience in customer transformation and partner development makes her the ideal leader for our growing business in the APAC region as demand for cybersecurity continues to grow.”
