The NHAI states that only vehicles with special passes will be exempted from paying toll on the expressway during the Ganesh festival; other vehicles have to pay the toll between September 5 and 19.

Though the Maharashtra government has announced that it will waive toll charges on the highway for devotees travelling to Konkan for the Ganesha festival, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has said that only those with special passes will be exempted.

The NHAI confirmed that the toll waiver will be effective from September 5 to 19 only for Konkan-bound vehicles on the Mumbai-Bengaluru and Mumbai-Goa national highways, as well as state highways. (HT PHOTO)
