AI Search Startup Glean Announces $4.6 Billion in New Funding

(Reuters) – Artificial intelligence-driven search company Glean has raised more than $260 million in a new round of funding, doubling its valuation to $4.6 billion, as investor interest in startups implementing AI-powered services continues to grow.

The Series E funding round, led by Altimeter and DST Global, raised Glean’s valuation from $2.2 billion in February.

The company uses AI-powered conversational assistants and advanced language models, such as OpenAI’s GPT, which powers ChatGPT, to generate personalized responses to queries based on the company’s internal data.

Founded in 2019 by former Google employees, Glean’s clients include Reddit, Pinterest, and Databricks.

The company also announced new features that allow users to create “multi-step” prompts using natural language, eliminating the need for coding or prompt creation skills.

Co-founder and CEO Arvind Jain, who also co-founded data management startup Rubrik, said in February that the company plans to expand its hiring.
