Jon Bernthal and Pablo Schreiber to Star in Netflix Series ‘His and Hers’

Fresh off of his Emmy win, Jon Bernthal is planning his next concert. Bear star and Pablo Schreiber land key roles in Netflix series His and Hers adaptation, which stars and executive produces Tessa Thompson. The series is described as a seductive and action-packed psychological thriller.

The six-episode limited series stars Thompson as anchor Anna Andrews, a woman who, according to the series, lives in haunting solitude in the Atlanta heat, drifting away from her friends and her journalistic career. But when she overhears a murder in Dahlonega, Georgia — the sleepy town where she grew up — Anna comes back to life, throws herself into the case and searches for answers.

Bernthal will play Jack Harper, a sheriff’s detective who is married to Anna, but the two are estranged, their relationship complicated by loss and betrayal. Jack lost his last job and now works in his small hometown of Dahlonega, where he lives with his sister and niece. Jack is described as a good man who doesn’t always make the right decisions and is deeply troubled by the murder case he has just taken on.

And Schreiber will play Richard, one of the top cameramen at a local news station who is married to “hot new anchor Lexa Jones,” who has slipped into her position in the recent absence of regular anchor Anna. Richard is Anna’s chosen cameraman when she returns to cover a murder case in Dahlonega as a field reporter.

The story notes that Jack is oddly suspicious of Anna’s involvement, “hunting her into the crosshairs of his own investigation” and noting, “There are two sides to every story: His and Hers“Which means someone is always lying.”

The series, directed by William Oldroyd, is an adaptation of Alice Feeney’s novel of the same name and went into production in the fall. A premiere date has not yet been announced.

In addition to Thompson, showrunner and writer Dee Johnson (Traveler buddy, The Good Wife, ER) and screenwriter Bill Dubuque are executive producers on Fifth Season, with Kristen Campo of Campout Productions, Jessica Chastain and Kelly Carmichael of Freckle Films, and Kishori Rajan of Viva Maude.

The rights to Feeney’s book were acquired by Chastain’s Freckle Films shortly after its publication in 2020.
