FedEx Fulfillment invests in robotics company

FedEx Corporation has invested in Nimble, an AI robotics and autonomous e-commerce fulfillment technology company. The company says the move will help it scale its fully autonomous 3PL offering FedEx Fulfillment, which should be of particular interest to e-commerce providers.

“Our strategic alliance and financial investment with Nimble expands our presence in the e-commerce space, helping us further scale our FedEx Fulfillment offering in North America,” said Scott Temple, president of FedEx Supply Chain. “Nimble’s cutting-edge AI robotics and autonomous fulfillment systems will help FedEx streamline operations and open new opportunities for our customers.”

“We are excited to be entering into this multi-faceted alliance with a logistics industry leader like FedEx to pioneer and scale autonomous fulfillment,” said Simon Kalouche, founder and CEO of Nimble. “This collaboration will help FedEx leverage Nimble’s fast, cost-effective fulfillment centers, powered by our next-generation, general-purpose intelligent warehouse robots and AI technology.”
