FDA files police complaint against pharmacies for defrauding government

The FDA complaint alleged that the defendant illegally distributed non-existent supplies of bottled anesthetic tonics to pharmacies.

Pune: The Wanowrie police have arrested Pradeep Mangde of Laxmi Agencies, Wanowrie; Frederic Health Care LLP, New Delhi public representative Suraj Singh; owner of Jagatguru Pharma Lohegaon Ashlesha Changdeo Kadam; and owner of MS Wellness Care Medico, Kondhwa under Sections 336 (3), 318 (4), 275, 340 (2) and 3 (5) of the BNS in connection with a complaint filed by Food and Drug Administration (FDA) drug inspector Razia Shaikh on September 11.

The complaint said the accused was illegally distributing non-existent stocks of anaesthetic tonic in 241 x 100 ml bottles to pharmacies. The accused was preparing fake bills in the name of pharmacies that did not purchase the tonic and was running a business of defrauding the government, the FIR stated. No arrests have been made so far.
