S&P 500 materials and industrials sectors on track for biggest weekly gain of 2024

The materials and industrials sectors of the S&P 500 both posted strong gains on Friday, according to Dow Jones Market Data. Both sectors are on track for their biggest weekly gains of the year.

The materials sector was up 1.2% Friday afternoon, on track for a weekly gain of 3.4%, according to FactSet data, at last check. The industrial sector was up 1%, on track for a weekly gain of 3.7%.
