What happens when you block someone on LinkedIn

Before you block anyone on LinkedIn, you need to understand the consequences:

  • LinkedIn does not notify users when they are blocked, so the person won’t know you’ve blocked them until they try to view your profile or engage with your content.
  • A blocked person cannot see your LinkedIn profile or any of its content.
  • If a connection has been established, it will be disconnected automatically.
  • You will no longer receive notifications from the person you have blocked, such as likes, comments, or messages.
  • Any conversations you’ve had with the person you’ve blocked on LinkedIn will disappear from both your inbox and their inbox.
  • A blocked person cannot see your posts, comments, or other activity in groups you both belong to.
  • LinkedIn will no longer recommend you to each other in features like “People You May Know.”
  • You and the blocked user will lose any recommendations or endorsements you have given each other.

Block someone on LinkedIn company page

You can’t block someone on your LinkedIn Company Page because it’s public. Unlike personal profiles, Company Pages are open to the public, so anyone can see them. You can block people from viewing your personal profile, but there’s no way to prevent specific people from viewing your Company Page.

However, you can still manage problematic exchanges on your business page. Here are some other things you can do.

  • Monitor and moderate comments: Regularly check the comments on your posts. Delete comments that are offensive, spammy, or irrelevant to the discussion.
  • Engage in positive comments: Respond to positive comments and questions instead of focusing on negative ones to create a friendly atmosphere. Share comments and posts that add value to the conversation.
  • Establish clear guidelines: Clearly define acceptable behavior and expectations for interactions on your company page. Help your followers understand the guidelines and the consequences of violating them.
  • Limit content visibility: You can choose who sees your LinkedIn company page updates. You can share them only with followers, employees, or specific company groups. This gives you control over who interacts with your content.
  • Use community management tools: Use a third-party social media management tool like Sprout Social or Hootsuite to manage your business page. These tools can automatically hide comments that contain certain words or phrases.

We have shared some LinkedIn tricks to make your LinkedIn journey more creative and productive. However, even after that, if you feel that LinkedIn is not for you, learn how to delete your LinkedIn account forever.
