Entries are now being accepted for the 48th Annual Poor Artists Sale in Calumet

CALUMET, Mich. (WLUC) – Applications are now being accepted for the annual Poor Artists Sale in Copper Country. The event is hosted annually by the Copper Country Community Arts Council.

Featuring artists from the Upper Peninsula and northern Wisconsin, the show typically features more than 60 artists selling their work. The executive director of the Arts Council says they organize events like this to support local artists.

“We do this because it’s an important exhibition and opportunity for artists to sell their work,” said CCCA Center Executive Director Cynthia Cote. “One of our main goals is to support local and regional artists and give them the opportunity to sell their work and make a living as artists.”

The sale of works by poor artists takes place in December, but the deadline for entries is October 8. This will be the 48th edition of the event.
