Florida man found guilty of using hidden cameras to record children

Gary Rivera of Miami was found guilty of producing and attempting to produce child sexual abuse material.

According to the State’s Attorney’s Office, testimony and evidence presented at trial revealed that Rivera gave the child three items, each with a hidden camera. When the mother found the cameras, she called the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.

When investigators checked his cellphones, they found 14 files containing child sexual abuse material and an application used to control hidden cameras.

Rivera was found guilty of two counts of producing and attempting to produce child sexual abuse material and one count of attempting to produce child sexual abuse material.

On each count, Rivera faces a mandatory sentence of 15 to 30 years in federal prison.

The sentencing hearing will be held on December 4.
